Overview
The Tropicalia armchair is placed by Moroso under Armchairs and Outdoor living, with the credit "by Patricia Urquiola, 2008". The 2026 data sheet lists four versions: 458 varnished, 459 stainless steel, 461 varnished with arms and 462 stainless steel with arms.
Construction
The page gives a tubular frame in either stainless steel or powder-coated steel, made for outdoor use and fitted with PVC glides. Moroso weaves a polymer cord over the frame. The product sheet shows weaving A and B for the armchair with and without arms.
Optional cushion
The data sheet lists an armchair cushion for outdoor use, code 080, with polyester fibre padding. Its fabric is Reviva Hero, in nine colours.

Story
Four versions and a cushion
The data sheet separates the armchair by base and by arms: 458 varnished, 459 stainless, 461 varnished with arms and 462 stainless with arms. The July 2026 product sheet adds the TR0 and TR1 prefixes to each code. A loose outdoor cushion, code 080, is listed on its own line with polyester fibre padding.
Patricia Urquiola, 2008
The Moroso page dates the armchair to 2008 under Patricia Urquiola's name. The product sheet introduces the family through the turn of the wire, which it compares to a pencil stroke.
