Description

Overview

The Triangle Leg Table was designed for HAY by Simon Jones, motivated by the desire to create more space around a circular table. The ends of the rectangular tabletop are rounded, a shape that maximises seating numbers around the table while keeping it compact.

Construction

The table is crafted from solid oak with an oiled or water-based lacquer finish. The triangular leg section creates the illusion of lightness and suits both square and round chair legs. The legs connect to the frame under the tabletop through a bolted connection with pressed steel corner brackets.

Specifications

  • Listed variants: L250 x W85 x H74 cm and L200 x W85 x H74 cm, each in oiled solid oak or lacquered oak

Story

More space around the table

The table was motivated by the desire to create more space around a circular table. Rounded ends on a rectangular top make a sociable setting that keeps the shape compact.

From the studio's earlier tables

Jones Neville, the London design partnership of Simon Jones and Jack Neville, describes the HAY table as a development of its earlier triangle leg tables. Its news page records the launch by HAY in February 2018.
