Description

Overview

Designed by GamFratesi in 2025, the Totto Stool revisits the three-legged stool with softened proportions, rounded edges and a shallow tray-like surface. GUBI presents it as a compact indoor piece that can serve as a stool, side table or sculptural object.

Construction

Totto is made entirely from Sapelli wood. GUBI identifies it as FSC certified under certificate C176589 and supplemented by wood from responsible sources. Its solid turned legs and shaped top are offered in lacquered natural Sapelli and lacquered dark-stained Sapelli.

Specifications

The official drawing gives 31 cm width × 31 cm depth × 32.6 cm height. The selected dark-stained item is 10151648.

Story

Reworking a Familiar Type

GamFratesi started from the traditional three-legged stool and adjusted its proportions and tactile details. The rounded perimeter and tray-like upper surface give the small object a distinct identity while preserving the stability of its archetype.

Sapelli as the Focus

GUBI says Sapelli was selected for warmth, durability and expressive grain. Natural differences in grain, tone and texture are part of the design, and the two finishes are intended to emphasize the wood's individual character.
