Description

Overview

Construction

  • Backrest: tubular steel frame upholstered in woven polypropylene fibre, with 3 cord colours
  • Seat: plywood faced with solid Dark Brown mahogany, or with natural-finish teak of the Tectona Grandis species, wrapped in variable-density foam
  • Cushions: foam and eco-friendly viscose fibre inside a water-repellent polyester cover
  • Feet: extruded aluminium in a polished Bronze colour, with black polyethylene glides

Specifications

  • Fixed, or with a 360 degree swivel mechanism without return
  • Completely removable cushion upholstery

Story

From indoor chair to open-air family

Torii Nest was first designed for interiors in 2020 and then carried outdoors, where it became a whole family of seats. The pieces use structural details linked to Japanese tradition, rounded edges and thin profiles.

An enveloping nest backrest

The backrest takes the form of a nest that wraps around the cushions. Cord mesh over a steel frame gives the armchair an ethereal look, and the seat adds the tactile contrast of natural teak or Dark Brown mahogany.
