Description
Overview
Tolomeo Floor is the floor-standing version of Artemide's Tolomeo lamp, credited to Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina. Artemide's page says it uses the body lamp shared by several Tolomeo models, mounted on a floor structure that increases the height.
Construction
- Body lamp: aluminium and steel (product sheet A001000), with the articulated arm system and spring mechanism that let height and tilt be adjusted
- Floor support (accessory A012820, mandatory to compose the lamp): weighted steel base with a stamped aluminium cover and a stem in chromed steel (Artemide North America)
- Optional aluminium sliding stand A014000 allows a second Tolomeo to be placed on the same floor support
- The complete lamp consists of body lamp plus accessories
Specifications
- Height 1620 mm, base diameter 330 mm, maximum extension height 2260 mm
- Horizontal reach 89 cm and reflector diameter 15 cm on Artemide North America's line drawing of the classic floor (TOL0100)
- Body lamp A001000: 8 W, 615 lm, 2700 K, CRI 90, 220-240 V, IP20; sources not included: LED retrofit on an E27 socket, maximum 12 W
Story
One body lamp on a floor support
Artemide's page describes Tolomeo Floor as the same body lamp that several Tolomeo models share, mounted on a floor structure that increases the height. Artemide North America words it as an extension to the Tolomeo family that combines the body of the Tolomeo table lamp with a floor-standing support.
The floor support is a weighted steel base with a stamped aluminium cover and a stem in chromed steel. The page's project section shows the lamp at Kitzig Design Studios, The Flat, in Düsseldorf and in a private home in Berlin.
