Overview
The Times Lounge armchair is a solid-ash armchair by Spalvieri & Del Ciotto for Poltrona Frau, drawn from the principles of the Times bed. It is a seat with an ultra-light structure and a cover that follows its forms like a tailored suit.
Construction
The ash structure has round visible parts and oval lower crossbeams. A Pelle Frau leather support wraps the frame, a technical textile under the seat acts as the spring, and the cushions hold polyurethane foam and polyester wadding.

Story
From the Times bed to a lounge seat
Spalvieri & Del Ciotto took inspiration from the design principles of the Times bed to create a seat that combines an advanced construction technique with understated, contemporary aesthetics.
Cushions on a leather shell
Poltrona Frau's technical notes describe cushions fixed with concealed zips and snap buttons to a leather support that wraps the wood, so the cushion covers can be changed while the support stays.
