Tape

Overview

The Tape sofas by nendo come in two sizes on Minotti's 2018 Collection page: the 163 cm and the 228 cm sofa; the page lists two- and three-seater sofas in the Tape range. The technical sheet draws the 163 cm sofa at 163 cm wide, 78 cm deep and 74.5 cm high.

Construction

A solid wood frame with natural-rubber-rich elastic webbing; the backrest is coated in fire-resistant polyurethane foam, the seat in variable-density foam, and both are cased in heat-bonded fibre on white hypoallergenic cotton. The metal base is polished anti-fingerprint Bronze, and the back legs have a leather or saddle-hide trim. Covers come off completely, in fabric and leather.

Specifications

Sofa 163 cm: 163 cm wide, 78 cm deep, 74.5 cm high (technical sheet; height not labelled on the drawing). The 228 cm sofa is 228 x 79 cm.

Feet and trim

On the sofas the base is a painted metal one: a strip of curved metal in the base finish covers the front legs, and the back legs wear a trim. The trim follows the backrest: leather of the same kind when the back is leather, Bronze-coloured saddle hide when it is fabric.

Removable back

Quick set and release closures let the backrest be lifted off the base so the covers can be taken off.
