Story
Why it is called 8
HAY says the stool is named 8 after the number of prototypes made before the final version was perfected. The product page calls it the start of a new collaboration with Marc Morro and describes the stool as showing the honesty and radical aesthetic of his direct approach to design.
Curved seat, tubing frame
In a studio-visit article Morro says the design belongs to a family that is an exercise ending in curved plywood sheets that become a seat. HAY adds that the curved seat and the tubing frame are both clearly presented and that colour is used boldly.
