Overview
Edra places Soshun in its Flower Collection and describes it as a stool-shaped flower whose stem tilts to form the load-bearing support. The welcoming seat is padded with polyurethane foam and covered in velvet.
Construction
The flower creates the seat while the angled stem becomes the support. Edra credits Masanori Umeda as the designer and shows Soshun in Casa Italia Rio, Villa in Lochem, Taty House and BCG MIA among its documented architectural projects around the world.
Story
A flower that becomes a stool
Soshun turns a flower form into a seat. Edra says that the stem is tilted to create the load-bearing support, so the botanical metaphor is also the product's structural idea. The welcoming seat uses polyurethane foam padding beneath a velvet covering.
Flower Collection
Edra identifies Soshun as part of its Flower Collection and credits Masanori Umeda. The manufacturer also documents the stool in projects in Brazil, the Netherlands, Monte Carlo and the United States.
