Description
Overview
The Sooso Side Table by EOOS is a sculptural presence in the room. Its name is based on the Japanese word Sōzō, which means sculpture, and its form is made of three cylinders that intertwine and merge into one composition.
Construction
The table is built from a precise sequence of many individual solid wood bars, similar to barrel construction. Inside, the space remains free, and the method makes do with little material.
Specifications
- Material: solid wood bars
- Form: three intersecting cylinders
Story
From Sōzō to Sooso
Sooso is named after the Japanese word Sōzō, which means sculpture. The table is a work of art that combines masterful craftsmanship with the natural beauty of wood, and it brings out the materiality of wood in an impressive way.
Three cylinders
Three cylinders overlap and intersect where they meet. The design follows the law of geometry and the logic of industrial manufacturing, and the result is an interplay of geometric softness and architectural clarity.
