Skygarden is a suspension lamp designed by Marcel Wanders in 2007; the Flos Professional page shown here is for Skygarden 2, FU642009 in Glossy White. Story
A ceiling he could not leave behind
The Flos text names the ornate plaster ceiling of Marcel Wanders' former home as the inspiration for the 2007 pendant; he kept its beauty by turning it into a lamp rather than leaving it behind.
Hidden beauty
Flos describes Skygarden as sleek and minimal from the outside, with a secret garden of delicate floral detailing cast in white plaster revealed when you step beneath it. The company calls it a poetic fusion of classical craft and contemporary design that brings hidden beauty into everyday space. On its stories page Flos says the diffuser is decorated inside with flowers, berries and leaves, in a composition reminiscent of an antique decorated plaster ceiling.
