Description
Overview
Scriba is a writing desk by Patricia Urquiola, from 2010. Molteni&C's page describes clean lines and subtle detailing, with a decoratively perforated top support that gives a sense of lightness. Its parts are a wooden top, a lateral drawer, a book support in painted sheet metal and a side pocket in hide leather.

Construction
The top is a honeycomb-core wood panel with a sliced veneer of American walnut, oak or eucalyptus. The fretwork leg combines a phenolic HPL laminate centre with 1 mm aluminium sheet on the outside, painted, on plastic feet; the L-shaped leg is a chipboard panel with the same veneers, on adjustable plastic feet.
Specifications
- SCR2, writing desk: 184 cm wide, 50 cm deep, 71.8 cm on the vertical dimension line (not labelled on the drawing); left version drawn
Story
A desk of several small parts
The page and the datasheet describe a work surface with a lateral drawer and a clever book support in painted sheet metal. The bookend leans on the top and can be set in the direction the user wants, which the page calls a workspace that is both dynamic and orderly.
A hide pouch at the side
A side pocket in hide leather holds papers, notebooks or personal items, the page says. The sheet adds that the pouch cannot be added later and must be ordered along with the desk, and that it is vegetable-tanned hide offered in ten stained colours.
