Description
Overview
Saki Outdoor, designed by nendo for Minotti, is a seating system for the outdoors with sinuous, petal-shaped support panels in a glossy outdoor lacquer. The seat is soft and generous, with a rounded silhouette finished with perimeter piping.
Construction
The seat sits on marine-grade plywood coated in high-resilience polyurethane foam and quilted viscose fibre, then encased in water-repellent polyester upholstery. The support panels are structural polyurethane (Baydur® 60) with a glossy outdoor lacquer finish, and the curved feet are die-cast aluminium varnished Pewter. Seat and backrest cushions are completely removable.

Story
Named for blooming flowers
nendo gave the backrest and armrest panels a sinuous shape that evokes the image of blooming flowers, “Saki” in Japanese, from which the system takes its name. The soft seat is topped by enveloping back cushions that rest gently on the petal-shaped panels.
A modular system
The concept is modular, with a soft rounded seat and perimeter piping. The curved Pewter feet are die-cast aluminium.
