Description

A two-seater contract seat

Structure and built-in table

The supporting structure is made from moulded steel sheet metal and coated with epoxy powder paint. A niche at the rear of the backrest houses a foldaway writing table fitted with a lamp. The seat uses a beech plywood panel padded with non-deforming polyurethane.

Upholstery

The manufacturer lists Pelle Frau® Color System leather, fabric or velvet. The upholstery is produced entirely by hand using traditional upholstery methods.

Story

A seat for architectural settings

Poltrona Frau places Rome within its contract-products area and presents it as a dynamic seat for an architectural context. Its two-seater format is designed for in-line installation, while the rear niche keeps a foldaway writing table and lamp within the backrest structure.

Designed by Odile Decq

The product page credits architect and designer Odile Decq. It calls the 2005 chair a meeting point between 21st-century art and design, with a contemporary profile intended to complement interiors from different architectural periods.
