Description
Overview
The Roll club chair (reference KS2300200) is part of Kettal's Roll outdoor collection by Patricia Urquiola, dated 2015 on the designer's own site. Kettal says it provides casual lounge comfort through straightforward design, with an informal posture, a compact form with an efficient footprint, and easy placement.
Construction
The spec sheet describes an ironical intervention on the conventional upholstery that converts a regular backrest into two independent 'wraps' connected by colorful straps; a graphical aluminium structure frames the protagonist of the chair, the cushions. The finish ranges the page names are Terrain Paints and Terrain Lustre.

Story
Two wraps instead of a backrest
Kettal's spec sheet for the club chair speaks of an ironical intervention on upholstery: the regular backrest is turned into two independent wraps connected by colorful straps, framed by a graphical aluminium structure that makes the cushions the protagonist.
Rolled up like mats
Patricia Urquiola's own site, which dates Roll to 2015, says the intriguing shape anticipated the name: the back support is formed by horizontal padded rolls, two upholstered cylindrical shapes connected by colourful straps, which look like they have been rolled up like mats and tied to a backpack.
