Overview
The Ricchio Chair, designed by Linda and Joseph Ricchio in 1990, comes with or without arms. Knoll offers an upholstered seat and back as well as a fully upholstered model.
Construction
The frame uses dowels and mortise-and-tenon joints. High-density polyurethane foam forms the seat and back; the seat is supported by elastic belting and a moulded copolymer pan fixed into the frame's corner blocks.

Story
The original Ricchio design
Knoll dates the chair to 1990. The company says its carefully contoured lines and scooped back earned a 1991 ROSCOE Award. The success of this first Ricchio chair led to two later, more compact designs by Joseph Ricchio.
