Description
Overview
Reversi '14 is a modular sofa by Studio Hannes Wettstein for Molteni&C. An innovative backrest mechanism adjusts the seating depth, from upright focus to leisurely lounging, and the name evokes reversibility and transformation. The datasheet title block gives Reversi '14, Studio Hannes Wettstein, 2014.

Construction
On the datasheet, solid fir (Picea abies) is joined with chipboard and elastic straps inside; foam padding sits under a light velvet; seat cushions pair a shaped polyurethane core with sterilised feathers; back cushions hold polyester fibre mixed with sterilised feathers; cotton (100%) covers every cushion. The feet are painted pewter colour with plastic stands.

Story
Building on earlier experience
The datasheet says Reversi '14, designed by Studio Hannes Wettstein (Stephan Huerlemann and Simon Husslein), is a modular, linear sofa which builds on previous experience in a project that keeps pace with current trends. It names the demand for more softness, wide armrests and high-tech padding.
Workspace and relaxing space
Because the seating depth is adjustable through the movement of the backrest mechanism, the datasheet says a single sofa can be both a workspace and a welcoming relaxing space. The page adds that individual units combine in linear or angled arrangements for private living rooms and dynamic, multifunctional spaces.
