Overview
Aleksandar Lazic designed Reverse Table Lamp, a dimmable LED table lamp, in 2020 for Audo Copenhagen. The starting point was Italian marble tables of the 1970s. A conical travertine base carries a curved aluminium shade.
Construction
The spun aluminium shade has an anodised colour and a milled aluminium knob. The base is handcut and raw polished travertine, left unworked. A rotary dimmer sits at the point where the shade and the base meet.
Specifications
Overall size: 240 x 240 x 300 mm. Replaceable LED, 9 W, 2200 to 2700 K, 445 lm, Ra above 90, 25,000 hours. Black cord, 200 cm. IP20.
Story
Italian marble tables of the 1970s
Danish designer Aleksandar Lazic searched for simple and clever solutions in any given space and looked to Italian marble tables from the 1970s when he created the Reverse lamp. The conical travertine base and the curved, bronzed aluminium shade give it a balanced expression.
Light across raw stone
The travertine is left unworked so that the light highlights its natural imperfections and reveals shadows. The dimmer sits where the shade and base meet, and the light source is a dim-to-warm LED.
