Overview
Piuma is a range of cabinets by Antonio Citterio, dated 2014 on the Flexform page and technical sheet. Flexform lists credenzas with doors and drawers, hutches, sideboards, TV entertainment centers and small tables with drawers, in vertical and horizontal formats.
Construction
The frame is offered in feather mahogany, Canaletto walnut, ash or oak veneer, with ebony amara also available. Shelves are glass, and the aluminium feet rest on thermoplastic pads. Piuma is free of handles: the finger pull is cut directly into the structure, and the 45° mitered edge of each door or drawer serves as the finger grip.
Specifications
- Code 020760 Cabinet w/doors and drawers: 105 x 55 x 115 cm
- Range: ten codes on the technical sheet
- Feet: aluminium in six listed finishes
Story
Wood as the main statement
Flexform describes Piuma as a pairing of understated form and the expressiveness of wood. The veneers are exotic, rare woods in a number of shades, and the pieces are finished even on the back.
A grip made from the edge
The doors and drawers carry no handles. Flexform says the 45° mitered edge acts as the finger grip and accentuates the clean, smooth lines of the cabinets.
