Description

Overview

The Pipe side table is by Sebastian Herkner for Moroso and completes the Pipe collection. An inclined tube column joins a steel sheet base to a steel top, an oblique gesture that is simple and precise. The table is full and almost industrial in material, yet its form seems to lean slightly off balance.

Construction

A 10 mm steel sheet base is connected to a lathe-turned steel top by a Ø 80 mm round steel tube column. Rubber glides protect the floor and give stability. The finishes are chrome-plated, gold chrome-plated or high-gloss coloured (five in all).

Specifications

  • Overall size: Ø 370 x H 440 mm (PI0S80)
  • Base: 10 mm steel sheet
  • Column: Ø 80 mm round steel tube
  • Top: lathe-turned steel

Story

A single tilt

A single tilt is enough to bring movement to what seemed still. The table takes up the founding element of the Pipe collection, the steel tube, and makes it an inclined column.

Solidity and discreet irony

Its strength lies in the balance between solidity and lightness. The form seems to lean off balance, with a discreet irony that belongs to the whole Pipe family. Because of its essential nature, the table also converses with furniture of different styles, at home as well as in contract projects, and its finishes are the same as those of the seating for coordinated compositions or unexpected pairings.
