Description
Overview
The Pietra Side Table is a GamFratesi design for GUBI, offered in two sizes. Item 10131148, shown on the page, is the small square table of 33 x 33 x 40 cm.
Construction
GUBI writes that each table is constructed by hand from six pieces yet resembles a solid block. A raised lip runs around the gently curving edge of the tabletop and forms a tray-like surface. The specification table lists a travertine leg and a table top 0.7 in thick.

Specifications
The front drawing marks 33 cm wide and 40 cm high (13 x 15.7 in); the top is square, 33 x 33 cm.
Story
Travertine, continued
GUBI places the Pietra Side Tables in GamFratesi's material exploration of travertine that began with the Epic and Doric Tables. The tables celebrate the patterns found in the surface of the stone.
Craft and softness
Carefully cut, fitted and finished, the curved edges and corners are described as an example of the craftsmanship behind the table, imbuing the stone with a sense of softness.
