Story
Designed for a roof at Cité Radieuse
Phare was designed for apartment no. 50 at Le Corbusier's Cité Radieuse in Marseille. The building's flat roof serves social needs but has no built-in lighting, and the lamp's design and materials take their inspiration from the roof construction.
Reduced to its function
The design is the result of a reduction process that adds all necessary parts without adding too much. Superfluous and decorative elements are omitted, so that only the function gives the lamp its formal language.
