Description
Overview
Ouverture is a sofa designed by Pierluigi Cerri in 1982, which Poltrona Frau revisits. The page names the contrast between a style inspired by industrial architecture and soft cushions as its distinctive feature, in Pelle Frau® leather or in fabric.

Construction
The supporting structure, feet and armrests are semi-oval steel profiles with die-cast aluminium terminals, and the seat structure rests on a perforated steel T-beam. All metal parts are lacquered in matt black epoxy powder. Seat, backrest and armrest cushions are padded with goose down.

Story
1982 and the early eighties
The page and the news item on the brand's site credit Ouverture to Pierluigi Cerri in 1982. According to the product sheet, in the early 1980s the sofa foreshadowed a domestic aesthetic that looked beyond lifestyle boundaries and became the prime mover behind a revolution in taste.
Reinterpreted after 40 years
The brand's news item, headed "Ouverture 40 years Young", says Poltrona Frau reinterprets the sofa after 40 years, following and respecting Cerri's original design. It presents the new edition as an expression of the Leathership® concept, which stands for working materials such as metals in combination with leather.
