Ortigia Outdoor Chair

Overview

The Design center is credited with Ortigia Outdoor, an alfresco dining armchair that dates from 2019 and belongs to the Ortigia seating family.

Construction

Solid iroko makes up the structure and backrest, with four wood finishes, namely natural, grey stain, white lacquer and brown stain. Woven polypropylene cord covers the backrest. A marine plywood seat with polyurethane foam sits under a laminated fabric that shields against water, and its upholstery comes off.

Cabinetmaking in solid wood

Solid wood forms the whole structure, and artisans craft it with techniques that call to mind fine cabinetmaking. Many elegant finishes are offered for it.

Woven backrest

A refined, entirely hand-woven covering clads the backrest in an elegant palette of colors, while the seat is upholstered. Traditional charm updated with a contemporary vibe runs through the Ortigia family.
