Description
Overview
The Oota Side Table by EOOS is as elegant and brilliant as a piece of jewelry. Delicate basketwork supports the round glass top, which reflects the light in a subtle and atmospheric way.
Construction
The frame is steel and the top is safety glass, 10 mm thick. In geometric terms the frame is a hyperboloid of one sheet, which creates the impression of an infinite loop of steel rods. The glides are synthetic.
Specifications
- Table top: round safety glass, 10 mm
- Frame: steel
- Glides: synthetic
Story
Geometry before function
For EOOS, function is not the main priority with a side table, but it inspires other possibilities, such as geometric experiments. The design of Oota follows the laws of geometry and the logic of mechanical production.
One surface, two sets of lines
In geometric terms, Oota is a hyperboloid of one sheet obtained by rotating a hyperbola. Two straight lines run through each point on its surface, one set to the left and one to the right, and two points are connected horizontally at the bottom and under the glass top.
