Description
Overview
The One Page armchair is by Ron Arad and dates from 2024. It is conceived as the modelling of a single sheet of paper: the polyurethane "sheet" is both the rigid, load-bearing outer structure and the flexible inner padding, so the seat, armrests and backrest carry no cushions or traditional padding.
Construction
The structure is a moulded shell of structural rigid polyurethane, padded with cold-injected flexible polyurethane foam. The swivel base has five stars in die-cast aluminium with a matt painted finish. A longitudinal swinging mechanism that moves a few degrees backwards, with or without a lock/release lever, and a return mechanism for the shell are options. The cover is not removable. Seat height without applied load is 38 cm.

Story
A single sheet, modelled
One Page is conceived as the modelling of a single sheet of paper. The design honours the continuity of forms in Ron Arad's sculptural work and the manufacturing skill of Moroso, the Friulian company.
Support and padding in one material
The polyurethane "sheet" has a dual role: a rigid external structure that carries the load, and a flexible internal padding. The special production process lays a soft, flexible moulded form over a rigid frame, so traditional padding is not needed as a source of comfort, and the armchair creates a continuum of comfort.
