Description
Overview
Onda is a bed defined by one continuous curved line: the upholstered frame and headboard read as a single enveloping base for the mattress. Poliform describes the form as contemporary in line while retaining the hand-worked character of capitonné stitching. The cover is non-removable leather, and the bed is supported by light metal feet.
Construction
The structure uses moulded flexible polyurethane. The leather cover is made with a capitonné effect, a chequered stitched surface that Poliform says is still made by hand. Metal-painted feet keep the upholstered body visually light. The product page also identifies an optional pair of rollers and two base configurations: fixed or anatomical.
Specifications
The official drawing prints 2022–2222, 2420, 935 and 300 mm. Its axes are not labelled; the representative record uses the maximum printed horizontal value with the remaining printed values. The cover is leather, with eight manufacturer leather lines listed by Poliform.
Onda is presented as part of Poliform's Night collection and can be used in a private bedroom or hospitality setting. Its curved headboard, upholstered perimeter and metal support give the bed a composed architectural profile while retaining the tactile character of hand-stitched leather.
Story
A single curved gesture
Poliform describes Onda as a whole in which a simple curved line acts as both base and headboard. The form accommodates the mattress inside a generously cushioned frame, making the boundary between support and backrest deliberately continuous.
Hand-worked surface
The distinguishing surface is a capitonné-effect leather cover. Poliform connects this chequered stitching technique with historic hand workmanship, bringing a traditional craft reference into a contemporary bed design. Paolo Piva is credited with the design and the page dates it to 2007.
