Overview
Oliva is a 2019 armchair by Constance Guisset. Zanotta describes its frontal form as an open shell shaped by a generous seat and back. From behind, the chair takes on greater volume and personality.
Construction
The chair has black-lacquered solid maple legs and a steel frame concealed within polyurethane and heat-bound polyester-fibre upholstery. The front legs pass through the seat cushion before meeting the rear legs.
Upholstery
Zanotta offers detachable external upholstery in either fabric or leather.
Story
From front to back
From the front, Oliva reads as a soft, open shell. Seen from behind, Zanotta says the chair gains volume and personality.
A light structural gesture
Constance Guisset describes the composition as sculptural and balanced on delicate legs. The exposed supports pass through the cushion, making the relationship between padded body and structure visible across the profile.
