Overview
Oblong Plus is a modular seating system by Jasper Morrison for Cappellini, dated 2023. Cappellini presents it as a revision of the Oblong System, made to be a more flexible and ergonomic structure. Elements come in different depths and widths.
Construction
A black epoxy powder-lacquered steel frame forms the base, with a steel tube structure carrying elastic belts on seat, armrest and backrest. Padding is cold-foamed polyurethane over multi-density foam and polyester fibre wadding, finished with a removable cover in fabric or leather. Feet are adjustable in black plastic and hinges are black plastic and metal.

Story
A Revised Oblong System
Almost twenty years after its presentation, Jasper Morrison's Oblong System was revised in its architectural system. Cappellini says the result, Oblong Plus, is more flexible and ergonomic and is designed to fit any space, contract or residential.
Free and Dislocated Seats
The seating elements can stand alone or form corner, linear or open compositions. Cappellini calls it a very contemporary product, the emblem of free and dislocated seats made for relaxed comfort, and notes that modules can be moved or added later.
