Overview
Nyx is a bed designed by Emaf Progetti in 2010. Its demountable steel frame is available in two forms: model 1706 without headboard cushions and model 1707 with upholstered cushions.
Construction
Bent-beech slats include stiffness adjusters. Model 1707 adds headboard cushions filled with pure goose down around a polyurethane insert, with removable fabric or leather covers.
Specifications
The selected model 1707 for a 160 x 200 cm mattress measures 166 x 218 cm. Its largest vertical drawing value is 94 cm, but the value is not labelled on the drawing. The steel frame is painted talc or black.
Story
Sofa comfort transferred to a bed
Emaf Progetti focused the Nyx concept on making a bed comfortable for reading or watching television. The studio moved the familiar back cushions of a sofa into the headboard position, giving model 1707 two soft, removable upholstered elements above the fine metal frame.
Two models
The official sheet distinguishes model 1707 from the pared-back 1706, which omits the cushions. Both use demountable steel construction and adjustable bent-beech springing, while only 1707 carries the removable fabric or leather headboard covers.
