Overview
The Nerd Chair by David Geckeler has a playfully contemporary expression and wooden Scandinavian materiality. Muuto highlights the seamless joining of back and seat and the curved edges of the seat, in a chair with no arms.

Story
Playfully contemporary
Muuto's page says the Nerd Chair is designed with a playfully contemporary expression joined by its wooden Scandinavian materiality, and that Nerd combines the traditional material of wood with a simple yet eccentric design language.
Veneer and solid wood
Back and seat are form-pressed veneer and the legs are solid wood, both in water-based lacquer, on plastic glides. Muuto's material tab says the Oak and Stained Dark Brown finishes can vary a little from piece to piece.
Award
Muuto's page introduces David Geckeler as an industrial designer based in Berlin who works across furniture, interior, tableware and lighting, and says he received Becker's International Design Award in 2011 for the Nerd Chair.
