Overview
Narinari is a compact 2024 armchair by Tiziano Guardini and Luigi Ciuffreda, created in their first collaboration with B&B Italia. Two pursuing surfaces define its continuous volume, which B&B Italia compares to a silhouette folded like origami.
Construction
A hard-polyurethane frame supports flexible cold-shaped polyurethane foam beneath a polyester-fibre cover. The outer cover is Mara felt with raw-cut detailing, and the ferrules are thermoplastic material.
Dimensions
Largest NR80P drawing values, not labelled with axes: 800 × 760 × 800 mm.
Story
Two surfaces
Narinari transforms the visual suggestion of folded origami into an upholstered seat. Its two continuous surfaces pursue one another, producing a form that B&B Italia describes as both soft and decisive.
First collaboration
The armchair marked the first B&B Italia project by Tiziano Guardini and Luigi Ciuffreda. The designers brought experience from fashion, architecture, exhibitions and product design to a piece positioned between organic and digital expression.
