Description

Overview

Keiji Takeuchi's low-back Moa is a swivelling armchair with an integrated lumbar form and a folded, four-branch metal base. The rotating support also includes a mechanism that allows the chair to tilt.

Construction

A mechanically welded seat frame meets tubular arm and back structures covered in injected foam. The upholstery combines two high-resilience Bultex densities with 110 g/m² polyester quilting. A 3 mm bourrelet stitch marks the seat and back, and the covers are fixed.

Dimensions

The low-back armchair measures 790 x 820 x 820 mm (W x D x H), with a 435 mm seat height.

Story

Function shaped into volume

Moa's lumbar area, head support and arm profile are integrated into one continuous upholstered shell. The design connects the Japanese art of simplicity with volumes that follow their functions.

Two base finishes

The metal swivel base is offered in satin black epoxy lacquer or satin chrome. This specification uses the black-lacquered version, whose US starting price is published separately from the higher-priced chromed base.
