Description
Overview
Metropolitan is a 2002 armchair line by Jeffrey Bernett: a small armchair on a four-spoke aluminium swivel base and a larger relaxation chair with a magnetic headrest and matching ottoman. The seat flows uninterruptedly into the armrests.
Construction
- Frame: steel tube and profiles, cold-shaped flexible polyurethane foam, polyester fibre
- Seat cushion: shaped polyurethane, polyester fibre
- Headrest and lumbar cushions: polyester fibre in cotton, headrest on magnets
- Bases: aluminium (ME100 circular; ME100_1, ME84, ME62_1 die-cast), drawn steel (ME62) or drawn steel and wood (ME100_1L, ME84_L)
- Cover: fabric or leather

Story
The seat that continues into the arms
B&B Italia names the seat that flows uninterruptedly into the armrests as the hallmark of Metropolitan. The line has a small armchair with a four-spoke aluminium swivel base and a larger relaxation chair.

Relaxation chair with ottoman
The larger chair is also swivel, has a headrest with a magnet for adjustments and is offered with a matching ottoman; both sizes can also stand on a base-frame of drawn steel and wood.
