Meriggio Outdoor Armchair

Overview

Meriggio is an armchair by Antonio Citterio, dated 2023 by Flexform. Flexform says the beauty of the wood and expert artisan craftsmanship give it a bold personality, and that Citterio and Flexform continue their work toward revitalizing tradition.

Construction

Hand turning and hand finishing shape the solid iroko, which is supported by steel. Water-repellent elastic webbing lies under the seat cushion. Both the seat cushion and the backrest cushions are filled with polyester fiber, the seat cushion also having a variable-density polyurethane foam insert, and the upholstery is removable water-repellent fabric.

Sled base on spacers

The base of Meriggio has what Flexform calls a characteristic "sled" design, set on thermoplastic spacers. According to Flexform, the spacers keep the wood from touching damp outdoor surfaces.

Padded cushions and optional bolster

Generous padding is Flexform's description of the seat and backrest cushions, with the seat cushions resting on elastic webbing offered in a variety of shades. A bolster behind the backrest cushions is optional.
