Description

Overview

Molteni&C's Lucio armchair comes from Vincent Van Duysen, in the Lucio series that the datasheet dates to 2024. The page calls it a carefully constructed accent piece uniting aesthetic fulfilment and practical use, and it comes as a fixed armchair (LPO1) and a swivel armchair (LPO2).

Construction

Spruce (Picea abies) and Polimex make up the frame per the datasheet, with elastic straps in the seat, a variable-density foam padding and a bonded cotton-polyester velveteen cover. Painted aluminium feet with non-slip ferrules support the fixed armchair; the swivel one turns on a painted steel base.

Specifications

  • LPO1 armchair: 88 cm wide, 84 cm deep, 73 cm high (not labelled on the drawing)
  • LPO2 swivel armchair: the same values on its drawing
  • Seat structure alone: 67 cm deep

Story

An accent piece

On the armchair page Molteni&C presents Lucio as a carefully constructed accent piece. It says the design represents the duality of aesthetic fulfilment and practical use, and calls the result a harmonic melding of fluidity and femininity.

Stitching and opening

The page says the silhouette of this armchair is subtly accentuated by unique multi-tone stitching all over, and that one strategically placed opening in the backrest adds lightness and breathability.
