Story

From field chair to director's chair

Flexform's page opens with the folding chair's history: an object of undisputed functionality that originally served as a field chair, then, with the expansion of the film industry, gained iconic status as a director's chair because it was easy to carry between sets.

A new interpretation

The page says the legendary qualities of the type, comfortable, lightweight and easy to carry, inspired Antonio Citterio and Flexform to reinterpret it as the Luchino armchair, with refined joints that enable easy folding and transport.
