Story
Bentwood, cantilevered
Artek's page describes Lounge Chair 43 as a further exploration of bentwood manufacturing and a statement in design, built on the stability and flexibility of birch lamella. Its seat webbing has its own heading on the page: "Lounge Chair 43 employs comfortable linen belt-webbing".
From the experiments
In its 90-year archive feature Artek says the chair shows what came out of Korhonen and Aalto's woodbending experiments.
