Construction
At its foundation is a trumpet-shaped swivel base. The sculptural form is enhanced by a void in the backrest that lightens the silhouette. The datasheet lists a structure of plywood panels and Polimex with polyurethane foam, and a swivel base in black painted steel.
Specifications
- LPOL1 complete swivel armchair: 78 cm wide and 76 cm deep; the drawing's tallest vertical value is 74 cm, which is not labelled on the drawing
- Base finish: matt black
Story
A trumpet base, reinterpreted
The datasheet says Linea reinterprets the iconic trumpet base, a design element recalling the recent past, and keeps timeless relevance through more compact and harmonious proportions. The page calls the swivel base an elegant nod to mid-century design, reinterpreted with contemporary fluidity.
A void in the backrest
Both sources point to the opening in the backrest: the datasheet calls it a refined void that lightens the visual profile of the enveloping seat, and the page a subtle yet impactful detail that lightens the silhouette while keeping an enveloping sense of comfort.
