Liagò

Overview

Liagò is a series of storage units by Piero Lissoni, defined by clear lines and increased thicknesses. The units are inspired by the Venetian architectural element after which they are named, an outdoor loggia made of wood, often featuring a marble floor.

Construction

The external frame (sides, back panel and base) is veneered MDF wood fibre panel on a base-frame of steel profiles. The 50 mm-thick frame has side and back panels assembled by a folding mechanism that creates an internal compartment for electrical cables. Shelves are glass, and drawers have aluminium edges with complete opening and cushioned runners.

A loggia in furniture form

Piero Lissoni designed Liagò in 2020. The units take their name from the Venetian loggia, an outdoor wooden structure that often has a marble floor, and they are defined by clear lines and increased thicknesses.

Frame and interior

The 50 mm-thick frame hides an internal compartment formed by a folding mechanism between the side and back panels, which lets electrical cables pass. Inside, the surfaces are a silky, anti-scratch, anti-fingerprint, matt anthracite material and the shelves are smoked etched glass.
