Overview
Landscape is a chaise longue designed by Jeffrey Bernett in 2001. B&B Italia describes an airy, agile seat whose minimal profile balances comfort with a visually light supporting structure.
Construction
Steel tubing and profiled steel members make up the internal frame; drawn steel forms the visible support. The inner padding combines flexible cold-shaped polyurethane with polyester fibre, while shaped polyurethane and polyester fibre form the headrest. The segmented fabric or leather cover is completely removable.
Features
A magnet fixes the adjustable headrest, allowing it to be repositioned. Thermoplastic ferrules complete the support. The original fixed version was followed by a rocking version introduced in 2011.
Story
A light structural idea
Landscape turns the chaise longue into a continuous, elevated seat held by a restrained steel support. B&B Italia connects the design with Jeffrey Bernett's search for functional simplicity and attention to detail.
Development
The design dates to 2001. Its support was initially offered in a fixed version; B&B Italia added the rocking version in 2011 while retaining the segmented removable cover and adjustable magnetic headrest.
