Overview
The Joaquim side tables are by Giorgio Bonaguro and are inspired by the softness of Brazilian design from the 1940s to the 1960s. From that period they take the principles of eco-sustainability and creative recycling of production waste.
Construction
Marble forms the top, and color-coated or polished steel forms the base. Two marbles are offered for the top and two finishes for the base and legs.
Specifications
Top: marble in 2 finishes. Base and legs: color-coated or polished steel in 2 finishes.
Story
Brazilian modernism
For the Joaquim side tables, Giorgio Bonaguro draws on furniture made for the modernist architecture of Niemeyer, Costa, Vilanova Artigas and Bo Bardi. Geometric, linear forms honour the simple, elegant lines of Joaquim Tenreiro, regarded as one of the fathers of modern tropical design.
Creative recycling
Reusing production waste follows contemporary principles of creative recycling and eco-sustainability, and shows in the construction from the metal frame to the marble tops and bases.
