PJ85FN low-back armchair
J.J. is Antonio Citterio's 2012 family of armchairs. The representative PJ85FN combines a drawn-steel support structure with a solid-wood shell. Polypropylene ribbons form the backrest, and leather over steel sheet is used at the armrests.

Materials across the family
Shaped polyurethane supplies the upholstery, with thermoplastic ferrules at floor level. Other documented versions add a polyester-fibre headrest with cotton cover and steel-sheet counterweight. PJ99DN places the chair on solid-wood sledge legs, while PJ99FAN and PJ99DAN combine leather with Mongolian lamb fur.
PJ85FN dimensions
The drawing labels 74 × 79 × 85 cm, and also marks 50.5 and 37 cm vertical values.
Story
Lightness with traditional references
B&B Italia describes the steel-rod structure carrying a wooden frame as a way to convey lightness while hinting at traditional aesthetics. The polypropylene ribbons that draw the backrest are singled out as a carefully studied detail shared by the armchair family.
Fixed and rocking expressions
The official sheet presents fixed chairs alongside a rocking version. For PJ99DN, the familiar rocking-chair sleigh is paired with a long-haired Mongolian lamb-fur cover, while other codes use leather and optional headrests.
