Description

Overview

Java Dining table is an extending dining table by Thibault Desombre for Ligne Roset. Six people sit at it closed, and eight to ten once the integral extension (W 87 cm) is unfurled.

Construction

The base is 12 mm flat steel, laser-cut from a large sheet, hollowed out in the centre and folded, with no welding. It is finished in black or white lacquer with a slightly grained effect, and three adjustable jacks sit beneath each leg. Ten finishes are offered.

Specifications

Diameter 1,300 mm, height 751 mm.

Story

A base cut from one sheet

Java's base is laser-cut directly from a large sheet of 12 mm flat steel, then hollowed out in the centre and folded. This solder-free technique brings purity of line and a smooth, high-end appearance.

Two bases that move apart

When the table is closed, the half-legs mirror each other and look like a central base with four branches. When the extension is unfurled, the halves of the top and the two bases move apart, which gives the table great stability, visually and mechanically.
