Description

Overview

Jean-Marie Massaud designed Jane, here as a round table with a diameter of 200 cm. The marble top has four radial sections around a central rotating Lazy Susan disc, always cut from the same marble, and the table stands on four columns.

Construction

  • Top: four radial sections in brilliant marble, which can be moved outward by 10 cm for cleaning and incorporate a fluid-collection tray; a technical mesh reinforces the underside
  • Lazy Susan disc: turns when two knobs under the table are pressed
  • Columns: each has a steel mounting plate, a central wooden column and a steel floor plate lacquered titanium-coloured, with shaped brown felt pads
  • Column body: an internal part of solid beech enclosed by four shaped high-density MDF panels veneered in flamed ash

Specifications

  • Overall size: 200 x 200 x 74 cm (5618637)

Story

An organic, free table

With Jane, Jean-Marie Massaud imagines a table that is organic and free in space, one that avoids imposing positions or hierarchies. In his design the solidity of the base contrasts with the airy lightness of the broad surface, and an ingenious steel junction between the legs and the top emphasises the sensation that the surface is floating.

Sections that extend, a disc that turns

In the round version the top is made of four radial sections around a central disc. The sections extend outward by 10 cm to make cleaning easier, and the disc at the centre rotates.
