Story
A first chapter
The page presents Jacques-Yves as the first chapter in the collaboration between Poltrona Frau Custom Interiors and the studio Zuccon International Project. It is intended for the marine industry, and Poltrona Frau's news item says the partnership reinforces its growing commitment to the yachting industry.
The name
The system is named after the French explorer, oceanographer and filmmaker Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Like him, the page says, the seating becomes an expression of ingenuity and boldness, with versatile configurations and an enterprising, tailored solution.
In the designer's words
Bernardo Zuccon, quoted on the studio's website: “I employed the principle of illusion in approaching this project and this enabled us to produce an object that on first sight might seem best suited to the home, because of its lines, style and lightness, but which in fact has all the functions more typical of traditional marine furniture”.
