Construction

The base is powder coated steel; seat, armrest and backrest are soft moulded HR foam with steel inserts, upholstered in stretch fabrics. The table tops are black MDF with a nano laminate surface (the sheet reads black Fenix laminate), and plastic gliders are fitted as standard.

Specifications

Seat module NN1A: W 65 × D 65 cm. The module drawing's header gives a seating height of 40 cm and an armrest height of 60 cm. Other modules are listed in the module drawing, and a power outlet is available in DK, UK, US and Schuko versions.

Story

Two designers, one poem

The page says Nendo and Nichetto co-created Isole through a long-distance exchange of ideas inspired by Tanka, a genre of traditional Japanese poetry in which one person starts the poem and the other completes it.

It describes Oki Sato and Luca Nichetto as two designers from different cultures with a shared passion for design, and the aesthetic of the sofa as soft, endearing and inviting.
