Construction

The frame combines metal tubing with multi-ply panels, covered in polyurethane foam of 50 kg/m3 - 3.9 kPa, with polyester quilting at 110 g/m². The headboard pairs metal tubing with MDF panels and takes the same foam and quilting. The base is metal with a matt black epoxy lacquer, and any bed base can be integrated.

Specifications

Height 960 mm. The other dimensions follow the mattress size.

Story

A headboard with a movable side

Hypna is a bed with a new function and a new use, characterised by its screen-type headboard. Its minimalist form and restrained dimensions are part of the design, and the headboard's movable sides open or close to create different configurations, even a room within the room.

Closed and open positions

The closed position answers a wish for protection, a space for retreat and rest. Opening the movable wings enlarges the sleeping area and makes room for additional furniture such as a small bedside table or a bench, while opening the sleeping area to the rest of the room. The vertical lines of the headboard highlight the function and are also a formal element, and the geometry of the tapestry relates to them.
