Description
Indoor comfort interpreted outdoors
Antonio Citterio's 2020 Hybrid system uses generous padding over low supporting structures. B&B Italia describes the textile dimension as central to the project.
9HY310 element
The official drawing labels the long element 310 cm wide and 90 cm deep, with a variable overall height of 59–68 cm depending on the cushion arrangement.
Outdoor construction
Powder-coated die-cast aluminium and extrusions support the seating. Glass-fibre slats sit beneath polyurethane padding wrapped in water-repellent polyester fibre.
Story
Between inside and outside
The Hybrid name reflects B&B Italia's stated intention to connect indoor upholstered-furniture comfort with an outdoor interpretation. Deep seats, low backs and an additional headrest cushion allow the support level to change.
A system of combinations
The official Compositions tab lists eight arrangements, HY001 through HY008, assembled from coded seating, back and arm components. Each arrangement specifies its component quantities.
