Specifying Herman Dining Chair for your design project?

INTEBEE is the FF&E specification platform for interior designers: spec sheets, finishes, floor plans and client-ready PDFs in one place.

Description

Overview

The Herman Dining Chair was designed in collaboration with the Danish design studio Herman Studio for ferm LIVING. Ferm LIVING describes it as elegant, well designed and comfortable enough to hold you for hours and hours. The broad, curved backrest provides plenty of back support and can also be used to rest your arms, and the chairs stack easily. The angles of the wooden backrests are designed so that the chairs can hang from a table.

Construction

In the steel-frame version the seat and backrest are FSC™-certified veneer on a black powder-coated steel frame. The black model (item no. 9401) has a seat and backrest of painted ash veneer. The fact sheet lists white oiled oak, dark stained oak, walnut or painted ash veneer for the backrest and seat, and an upholstered seat of birch veneer with PU foam in fabric or leather. The page says the chair is manufactured in Latvia and is a registered design.

Story

Back support and armrest

Ferm LIVING's page describes the broad, curved backrest of the Herman Dining Chair as providing plenty of back support and also working as an armrest. A supplier page adds that the seat has an oval shape that rises a little on the edges and that the frame holding the backrest lets you rock a little back and forth.

Hang it on the table

The angles of the wooden backrests are designed so the chairs can hang on a table, which in ferm LIVING's words makes it easy to clean underneath the table and means the chairs take up no space when they are not needed.
